Koncert Noworoczny z Wiednia jest jednym z najstarszych i najbardziej spektakularnych wydarzeń muzycznych w roku.

W 2016 roku do zadyrygowania orkiestrą Wiedeńskich Filharmoników zaproszony został wybitny dyrygent pochodzenia łotewskiego - Mariss Jansons. Było to już trzecie zaproszenie tego dyrygenta do poprowadzenia Koncertu Noworocznego. Od czasu pierwszego wspólnego koncertu w kwietniu 1992 roku Morris Jansons dołączył do kręgu ulubionych dyrygentów Wiedeńskich Filharmoników. Jego pierwszy „Koncert Noworoczny” w 2006 roku spotkał się doskonałym przyjęciem przez krytykę muzyczną i publiczność. Mariss Jansons zmarł miesiąc temu...
